my wife is a mac user and always has been. I met her in university where she took architecture. this was in 94 and at the time when CAD was pretty much mac only. think I had a powerbook 150 at the time and she would use it for CAD outside of class. its great to share your life with a fellow mac addict :)

despite my rabid interest in computers I tend to date girls who use them for the basics, and of the few that have had computers only one (her family that is) had a mac. I figure when I marry the girl I can convert her then :)

I haven't dated anybody in a long while, despite their choice of computers.

i convinced one of the first girls i met (hooked up with) in college to get a mac. to date she has used a pismo, a 17in iMac, and a g4 iBook. my ex girlfriend, we dated for 2.5 years, broke up this year on valtentine's day (another story for another time) sold her PC to buy a 17in iMac last year when we were still together.

i'm doing my part to up apple's market share... :D :D

My fiancee was a PC user. She's sort of a mac user now, by default, since I bought both of our computers, but I think deep down she'd still rather have a PC. She doesn't really voice this opinion. At some point, for work, she may need a PC though. We'll see.

Her main complaint about macs has been assuaged by our new 2-button, scroll wheel mouse. Now if only you could tab through forms on Safari sensibly (why is Safari so dumb?)...

When my wife and I got married in 1972, there wasn't much knowledge of a personal computer at home. When my wife first started using them in school they were the large machines. She used punch cards and had to write a program for statistics, it had to work for her grade.

It was because of school that we purchased our first Apple IIE. We both used that Apple. Both of us have used an Apple for the most part ever since.

the woman who taught me how to use a mac was my girlfriend from '93-'96...she had a 040 performa but taught me how to use the mac on the classroom mac classics and LC macs

the woman i eventually married was a machead since the 1980s and two years after we got married in 1997, we bought a powercomputing 604e clone, and then an ibook...right now, a friend loaned us a dual G4 he had as an extra machine

mac users have a lot in common right from the getgo so i don't think it is odd that mac users date/marry each other

    ..............

    other girlfriends:

first girlfriend when i was a hs senior...pc user

my girlfriend i had in 1992...pc user

as for the rest, i don't even know if they are computer literate but i guess they are prolly pc users ;)

My partner was a Mac user when i met him, which was a definite positive. In fact, one of his first excuses for spending time with me, was having me fish a card-cd out of his slotloading iMac ;) In my defense, I succeeded in extracting the offending minidisc before we started making out.

The boyfriend before him was a PC user, in so much as he burned really awful dance CDs on his parent's PC, but never failed to tell me what an idiot i was for using a Mac. Too bad he didn't know more, he would have discovered the keystroke sniffer I had running on my Mac that caught him cheating on me.

The boyfriend before that, didn't really use computers except for light Evercrack gaming, and he didn't really give a damn about computers (this was back in the dot-com boom too). He prefers Macs now tho, buying an iBook or iMac or something. From what i can gather now, he knows just enough to get stuck in a porn-cycle, not much else :D

My girlfriend owns a 800 MHz 17" flat panel iMac running Panther which I bought to update her aging 10.1 install which would never let her install a printer. She sometimes says I am a freak for being so into my PowerBook and Macs, but she loves sending all of her PC using friends and roommates to me to fix their computers after they complain how her iMac can't run XP.

I had a few PCs, an Atari ST and a used PowerBook 150 when I met my sweetie, who has used Macs since they had MC68000 CPUs. After I met her, I ran across a deal on a PowerBook 3400c on eBay. I liked the old OS, but not enough to switch from my collection of OS/2, Linux, and Windows boxes.

Then MacOS X came out. I bought a dual-G4 about 18 months ago and now I hardly use anything else.

Meanwhile, she bought a collection of parts and built a PC that sits next to her Mac. She uses it for some programming classes where they use Windows-based tools. I'm keeping an eye on that, to make sure it doesn't get out of hand.
