OK I guess its my fault for updating to ML without doing much research but really, WTF? The ability to throw all the my data between the iPad and the iMac is cool but not worth the loss of HDMI functionality. For all intensive purposes I still don't trust throwing all my data through apples servers anyway. Anyway I've had my iMac running through my SONY AV Receiver thru to my HDTV for years. MAC users notion that these computers are not designed as a home theater component must be in LALA land since this has been doable for almost a decade now. Since I updated to Mountain Lion it doesn't see the Receiver. HDMI didn't work at all until the update last week, now it does see the TV when directly connected. Apple doesn't even acknowledge the problem exists, saying it my adapter, Really? No its not. I can get everything to work through the optical out and direct connect to the TV but why is apple not fully supporting HDMI when Snow Leopard did, also the optical cable doesn't support True HD DTS HD or any other lossless codec or blu ray for that matter. I edit allot of video and I'm still pissed I can only do my Blu ray content on my PC.
