they are all near identical, the thing that annoys me is they are not 1080i, they can downsize a 1080i image to fit on the screen but they are actually 720p, which my two year old 23" medion lcdtv can do through VGA, (oh so conveniently for my xbox 360)

if you cant afford a tv that does 1080i natively (aka 1920x1080) then get one that does 720p exactly as pixel stretching will decrease the picture quality.

The biggest complaints I have heard from friends who have gone LCD is that they still see a hint of ghosting in action scenes (response time), and that blacks aren't black enough (contrast ratio). This is one reason I would lean towards the Samsung you linked, plus that fact that I have had nothing but good luck with Samsung monitors, including 2 CRTs and 2 LCDs.

The best thing to do is check them out in the store. Try to get a feel for the picture and sound quality, ideally with you own DVD content, but also poke around in the UI (menus, etc...). There ain't nothing I find more annoying than consumer electronics with a horrible UI. Unfortunately there are plenty of those.

Hector, how can you tell they'll downsize 1080i?

because the resulution of those screens is 1333x768 which is allot lower than 1920x1080 which is the true HD res for 1080i, personally i'd get a dell 24" and just feed your set to box or whatever into it, i dont know how tv works in the states but it has s-video/composite input and you can put a HDMI in via dvi and hook your xbox up via vga, thats what i'm going to do when i go to uni.
