I have a new powermac running Jaguar, and it's freezing while booting up. I found the problem on the Apple support page, but need to boot into OS9 to fix the problem. However, my computer didn't ship with OS9 disks. Are there any keys I can hold down that will force the computer to boot into OS9? I can't access anything in OS X, so I can't change the settings there. How else can I boot into OS9? Thanks!

i assume you don't have os 9 on a separate partition/disk as it sounds you just have the factory set up....

that said, why not boot up from the os x cds? put it in and hold c to start up from the cd (or any cd)... if you do have separate disks/partitions... hold up option at start up and it will let you choose what disk to boot from....

hope that helps a bit

there should also be os 9 on the software restore disks i think.... or could try starting from a utility disk or the hardware test disk....?
