    Hello everyone,
I'm in a bit of a panic....I deleted (accidentally--and yes I've emptied them from the recycle bin) some very important stuff. Is there anything built into Mac OSX that can retrieve these files for me? Alternatively, any help on this subject would be of great help to me!!!
    Thanks so much,
    Fox

You can search around for a company that will try and retrieve the data for you, however it will probably cost you in the high hundreds if not thousands of dollars.

If you make daily backups of your HDs (i make weekly ones) then sure you can restore it using a program like Super Duper or CCC (can't remember the name of the program just the acronym)

And stop using the computer you accidently deleted the things off of because if you continue to use it the less likely you are of retrieving the data ;) get on another computer if you already haven't

here is a list of programs on versiontracker that say they can retrieve data

use at your own risk, they may or may not be able to retrieve it, and if you use them and they don't work then more than likely you will have to go with a professional company and pay the hundreds or thousands of dollars. If your data is worth that much, that is, if it isn't worth that much then don't bother

The System Restore you are thinking of (the one in Windows computers) only restores Windows' settings, not your individual files.

Look for applications to undelete files. Just hope nothing has overwritten the spot the deleted file was in.

if they don't work then if your data really is worth a lot of money, a company can try to retrieve the data (no guarantees)
