where are you finding these ram chips and how much?

i'm not really sure of the difference...

    go to www.memorytogo.com

they break the memory down by product and rev. so there should be no confusion there.

    Try www.crucial.com

If you believe the hype they are the ones who make it for most of the other places selling it. I've bought from them and had good results, pretty cheap too.

One is ratied 2-2-2 and the other is probably 2-2-3 the previous chip has a lower latency and thus is slightly faster but you have to have all 2-2-2 chips to take advantage of it.

If you are replacing all your ram get the 2-2-2 spec. If you are adding ram get the cheaper stuff. Go to RamSeeker.com and get a better price I'm sure this is not the cheapest quality Ram. I don't believe in Generic ram but you can get good quality mostly name brand Ram from most of the outfits that Ramseeker tracks. All of it has a lifetime warranty etc..
