i just restarted my powerbok, and now my desktop has just reverted back to how it was when it was just bought, the dock size the icon sizes, everything looks like its on default. I freaked out and thought everything was gone, but everything i had before is still on the computer, all my music and everything....does anyone know what im talking about.....before i restarted i was playing around with network settings trying to share certain things on the network at our house. Another thing is i open my itunes and none of my music is there, yet i can locate it on the computer and when i connect my ipod , im pretty much panicking so if anyone has any idea what im talking about, id appreciate some help. ill probably be quick to respond, i will not go to bed until i figure this out.

    Never a good idea. :p

Do you have more than one account on your Mac? Could you have accidentally gone into a different user account? :)

Just one administrator account but when i go to my hard drive and then to the users folder there is my home folder, my shared folder and then two folders, one of which has everything that i had before this disaster in place.

Hmm... Change it back then? :)

Actually, I'm not sure that this will work. Could you drag everything from your old folder into your current Home folder? Maybe do it after starting up from the CD though, just so that it will let you replace all the files in the Home folder.

I didn't think you could change the name. Ah well, so long as you're happy with how it is now and you haven't lost any data. :)
