I just bought a Powermac G3 all-in-one from a buddy for $40. It has been upgraded to a 400mhz G4 through OWC (I think that how fast). I know it has a 40gig hard drive on it. It is also the model with both the zip drive and the floppy. It's also running a version of OS X on it. I bought it for my kids to play with. What things can I delete from this thing to make it faster? Like, the 4 year old won't need do I get it off of there? Would it be a little faster with an earlier OS?

To delete most applications (this definetely includes itunes), you simply go to finder, and then applications, and then find the iTunes icon and drag it into the trash. This is the same for all other applications you see in there that you don't want on there. (Make sure it's nothing that needs to be on there however!)

Getting rid of applications won't make the machine any faster. It sounds like you have enough drive space. If you remove them applications you can reinstall them off of the OS CD's. Adding more RAM is the only real way to make it faster. Also, don't forget to make your kid's account a Standard one. You don't want strange permanent things to happen.
