    Hello,

There are three areas I'd like help with:

First, I'm a .Mac subscriber and I want to make better use of the Homepage portion. I'd like to add a page that my students can access, so they can see assignments and discuss them. The "Education" template (or whatever it's called) would suffice for an introductory page but I'd like to add a bulletin board or forum section. I like the vBulletin program used here on Macrumors but I'd rather not fork over $85. Can anyone recommend a good forum program that can be easily added to Homepage? (I have absolutely no knowledge of HTML.)

Secondly, what are some easy-to-use website-building programs for OS X? Just in case I get tired of the Homepage templates, I'd like to know what's out there.

Finally, I read somewhere on these forums that there's a way to create an alias in Mail. I've searched but turned up nothing. I'd like to create another "@mac.com" name but have the messages continue to go to my current email address. I thought I read that there was a way to do this without having to pay extra. Does anybody know?

    Thanks in advance.

Not sure how well it works, but, if you log into Mail on .Mac and go to Preferences, you'll see the button to create an alias. Presumably, it's self-explanatory after that...

Edit: just to be clear - you go to www.mac.com, then go to the web version of Mail, then go to the preferences on that page. Just wanted to make sure it didn't read as though you needed to use the Mail application.

phpBB is an excellent free forum solution. Like vBulletin, it requires PHP and an SQL db. Not sure if you have access to these on a .mac acct.

If you can't run PHP/SQL, can you run cgi scripts?

Like I said before, I'm new to this whole site-building stuff. I found a free program specifically for OS X called Taco HTML Editor and then grabbed some HTML code from Bravenet.com. However, when I pasted it and tried publishing the page in Homepage, I got the following error message:

HomePage found the following issues with the HTML page you chose. Please fix these issues and try again: HTML pages using framesets are not supported by the External HTML template in HomePage.

Do I have to splurge on Dreamweaver?
