This may be a stupid question, but i've been using Photoshop on Windows for a couple of years and just now starting to use it on a Mac. Every time I click a tool in the toolbar that has a tool pop-up, the pop-up displays instantly, as though I had held down the tool icon or had right-clicked.

This is really annoying the 99% of the time when i want to select the tool that's displayed in the tool palette and don't want the pop-up to appear.

I've looked in the preferences and didn't see anything that covers this behavior.

???????

It does take a while to get used to that. Make your clicks quickly, just a light tap, and the options won't appear.

Even clicking at the fastest, most insane, video game-type click I can, I still activate the pop-up one in three or one in four times. Is there any way to reduce the responsiveness of the tool palette?

humm, mine don't do that unless I hold down on the tool.
