Right side of wrong
i've decided to reinstall OS X on my powerbook, but i'm having trouble.

i can't partition or erase using disk utility from the cd....it says it's trying but it just sits there

when i try to do a erase and install, it stays at "preparing the disk"

what should i try?

if you have another mac you could boot in FW disk mode and try that computer's Disk Utility i suppose.

this is what i had to do with my aging powerbook whose Optical drive is going slowly and didn't like the disk.

i also then re-installed off of my iMac in FW target mode.
