Im a Mythbusters fan and I've become fascinated with their highspeed recordings, according to the program recording at 1000 fps.

Is it possible to use a standard miniDV camera doing this? Connected to a computer ie.

Nope. You need specialized cameras for things like that.

Yup. Purpose built slow motion cameras is what shows like Mythbusters use to show things in super-slow motion.
