I have a G5 dual 2.0 with 2gigs RAM and I am trying to hook up a samsung with a VGA adapter but I only get black screen....i know the monitor works cuz it senses when cable is unplugged and monitor now is my 50" sony tv which also works via the same port DVI. ANy ideas as I am lost . Just bought this powermac to run Logic 7 soley on its own and THAT is a pain! I might just keep my macbook pro as the unit to run Logic 9 and use the power mac for everything else.....

What resolutions does the monitor support and see if the video card supports atleast one of the same. Does your PM have dual dvi ports? I would try both. Also when you hook the monitor up reboot the PM and see of you see the boot screen on it. If the monitor uses dvi I would use that instead of the VGA port
