Hosting a game

    I see that in the multiplayer section i can make my own game however it also says that i need gamespy or pure server.
    What is pure server.
    I know i need a server/host like blueyonder/gamespy to name but a few but what else do i need to do to go about hosting a game and will i be able to join in.
    I am on cable 512kbps.

    This has to cost me somehow does anyone know roughly how much.
    And i am in the UK.:confused:

    Yeah, some games like NOLF you can host from your own home.

    I would like to use Medal of Honor spearhead.

    I think that if i use gamespy i have to have a website and then they will advertise on my site and in exchange i can somehow use their site.
    I think i would be right in saying that if i launch the game myself i would need a very large computer as the game draws on alot of power whereas if i use gamespy they act as the server and i host the game.
    Please correct me.
    Also i dont have a web site and more than likely i should what with working on the yachts.
