Hi all,
my son loves to play FPS's like COD etc. Just wondering if a 10/100 is really fast enough, or very laggy, to host a LAN party? Or do I need to jump up to a Gigabit router & Switch?

If they're using consoles they top out at 100Mbps.

Even with computers I don't see 100Mbps being a limitation unless you have quite the event planned.

Thanks dude! I think the tech store guy lied to me!

probably...

100Mbps is probably fine... I've had "LAN" parties that were Wireless using 802.11g (54Mbps max) with like 6 or 7 people and never had network issues.

100Mbps is perfectly fine - you can play games on a 1mbit or slower internet connection (in fact, I remember online gaming over a 33.6kbps modem).
