Which computers can do this?
Assuming the computer is sleeping, all of them.
ibooks and the 12" powerbooks don't have hot-swappable batteries
Really... then I wonder how I hot swapped mine?
was the computer plugged in?
Nope. There is a backup battery in PBs... you did know that right? It allows for hot swapping for up to 20 secs I believe.
its like 2-3 mins but that only in the 15 and 17 inch powerbooks since there is no room for it in the 12"
but i know for a fact they do not have it in the ibooks since its "consumer"
I just did it and my computer went down.
rev B 12" powerbook, same as urs
only the 15" and 17" PowerBooks. iBooks regardless of size don't have them, 12" PB doesnt. iirc.
Hmm weird, I'll try it again later. Maybe I did have it plugged in but forgot.
well i might just have a faulty memory
i know the 12" iBooks dont
i know the 17" and 15" alubooks do
i think the 14" iBooks dont.
oh and dont get in the habit of pulling your battery out while the computer is sleeping
