Wow, the GOP is doing to itself what the democrats ought to be doing to them. Forcing the GOP leadership to stand and be counted, then holding them accountable for their votes. Let's face it, the GOP has been very good at doing this to Dems for years. War resolution anyone? The spineless, fearful Democrats in Congress rolled over and laid on their backs for that one, and it has effectively neutralized many of them. Kerry couldn't be an effective anti-war candidate, having voted for it. Nor could he be an effective pro-war candidate because we already had one of those.

Time to put the GOP in some of these headlocks.

The Dems are old and tired, that's just the impression I get.

The Democrats have been sidelined in the House and Senate. We'll see a lot more of this as the Republicans decide that the real legislative fights will not be fought against the Democrats but rather over deciding what direction the GOP should take.
