Thought this might be interesting... How cold is it where you are?

I live in Iowa and it's been around -10 degrees F at night with a wind chill around -22 degrees F. During the day it's been running around 2 degrees F.

In east-central Wisconsin, it's -1F right now. The "feels like" index has been down to -16 or lower quite a bit in the last couple days.

it's 30 degrees (F) here in Portland OR.

We have also turned into an ice-bowl with freezing rain in the past 24 hrs continuing into tonight. City is crippled, people and cars sliding...

Personally, I had quite a fun day with it.

    Gone tomorrow though...

Grand Rapids Michigan--currently 13 degrees, "feels like" -6.

    Yesterday our high was 11.

brrrrrr. Watch that your pipes don't freeze, and watch out for ice...because the salt just doesn't work in this weather!

I think it was 12 degrees Fahrenheit here this afternoon... Probably gotten colder by now... Michigan winters are horrible, as it was 50 just last week. Gets your hopes up and everything :(

It's 20°F where I am (look at my location). I'm too lazy to convert that to °C :D
EDIT: If anyone is wondering how to type that degree symbol on their Mac, it's option+shift+8. I don't know the correct keystroke on Windows.

    I Can Beat That

This is my first post, been lurking for a while but just had to jump in here. I am working night shift in Fort McMurray, Alberta and the temperature has been down to -38 celcius (-45 with the wind chill). Just a little bit cold. We dont even specify the minus ("its going to be 38 tonight"). When the temp goes up to -20 here you see people walking around with their coats open. Enjoy the warmth down south

Fort McMurray? Egads! My dad's from Red Deer, and we go back at least once a year - I've been pretty cold there, but not quite down to -38 . On cold-related themes, I was talking to a guy last night who participated in dragon boat racing (about a dozen people paddling a long, skinny boat) in northern China last winter, where it easily gets down to -30 Celsius. He said every time his paddle entered the water, it broke a thin skim of ice which immediately refroze. The only reason the water wasn't completely frozen over is it was just downstream from some sort of hydro plant. He also said he saw people in normal bathing suits playing/swimming in the river.

Right now in Beijing it's about -2C.

Mmmm....the magic number where ºF = ºC, somewhere around -40. I know the feeling of "when it gets warmer - it's hot". It was about -5F to 5F fahrenheit here for about a week, and when it got to 15F it felt unnaturally warm.

It's about 7ºF here right now, 'sposed to be between -5F and 20F for the next week or so. :)

I love cold weather personally. :)

It is 24°C here in Costa Rica... the temperature never changes too drastically, so, even during the summer it gets to about 30°C, while in the rainy season it hardly drops under 20°C (Mostly 21-25°C throughout the year) :D
I love this place, specially after reading all the temperatures posted in this thread!

According to Weather Network (we know how accurate they are), up here in Edmonton it is 30, and it feels like 40. Oh, yeah, that is minus 30 °C (-22 °F), eh.

I walked to Tim Horton's and some of my mocha froze!

Cold here as well... Western Canada. Cold enough that we have some homeless people sleeping inside ATM shelters.

Has been unseasonally mild for the past few day and later this week we may see daytime temperatures reach 13-14°C (55-57°F)...

Today will be something like 11°C (52°F)... according to this.

There also seems to be an odd amount of song-birds around.
Dawn chorus for January is usually nothing like this.

If it stays like this through Feb/early March I wouldn't mind...

Currently snowing right now. The alleyways are all iced over. A few accidents up in Whistler. One of my friend's truck sideswiped on the highway which made it on the local news.
