hey people!

I was wondering if anyone can help me out and tell me how to create the colours on a photo/design such as the one in this picture:

me probably photoshop using a combination of layers and airbrush for the colours. As to the lines, probably use illustrator, its easier to create the lines and then import them over.


All of the above is probably easier with a graphics tablet.

Pretty simple.

First you need a black and white image.

Change the mode to RGB

Create a new layer on top and fill with black.

Change the blending mode of this layer to "color"

Then just paint color into the new layer.

here is a view of the background photo, the color layer (set to normal so you can see it) and the two layers merged)
