DV-IN is a GOOD THING. This is what signals that your camera is connected through firewire to the computer. How old is your camera? Sometimes, especially on older cameras, the cameras firewire port gets all messed up. I would try a different firewire cord to be sure then a different firewire camera if you have one. If the latter works than its your camera's firewire connection that is broken, if changing the cord helps, then it is the cord, (that would be extremely lucky). Firewire ports are very fragile.. its a fact of life sadly.
