Hi,

So I'm fairly new to MacBook Pros as I got my first one a couple of months ago. Something that is frustrating me that I didn't have with my old PC is that when I use Image Transfer to copy the photos from my iPhone over to my Macbook, the file dates match the date I transferred the photos, not when they were taken. This is frustrating as along with the file names being seemingly random, I have no way of properly sorting the photos chronologically (unless I do it manually which would be painstaking.)

I'm currently operating on OS X Mountain Lion.

Any insights?
Thanks,
Lydia

Why don't you use iPhoto, or the new Photos app, which are the default apps for such a use(depending on OS version)?

Both import photos chronologically, include facial recognition, geo location, let you create albums etc.
