How do I uninstall programs in os X? haha im new

    Yeah, how do I do that? Just go to applications folder and trash the app folder? it just seems wrong coming from windows, but i dont see a official way. Also, how do I uninstall screen savers i downloaded and used? THANKS!

    If the app used .dmg to install the app then to un-install is trashing the app from the app folder and empty trash .. If the app used an installer then use the app uninstaller to delete the app



    .dmg is widely used in Mac OS,so .dmg way is better way to delete apps .. the .dmg icon will look like a diskdrive

    Also, if you're using Tiger, do a Spotlight search for the name of the app to find preference files etc. and trash those too.

    The preference file for most apps are usually under 4k in size,so if you don't wanna delete that file you don't need too..


    .plist files is in app support folder

    Very true, but old preference files hanging around can sometimes cause conflicts, particularly if you get an upgraded version of the app at some point in the future.
