Having this (stupid) debate with my friend. How do you pronounce the word TiBook (as in the Titanium PowerBook)?

Please vote in the poll the way you pronounce it.

    Thanks!

Tie Book, totally. I mean, it's not T I tanium, right?

I think your friend is going to lose this vote in a landslide ... :p

Actually, I call it "laptop". Nobody would know what I was talking about if I said TiBook.

In fact, the only place I ever use TiBook is online. When you first come to say a word to someone which you have only ever before read, it can be quite bizarre. I got some odd looks for saying "Ess-sea-ess-eye" instead of "scuzzy", once. Though I think my way is better.

I've always said "Tie Book." But I've never heard anyone else say it aloud, I just assumed it was short-hand for "titanium book."

As a former owner, I can, with whatever authority is granted by ownership, semi-officially say that it is TieBook. :)

I think that the letters are pronounced separately, but then I am usually wrong with how to pronounce things so it probably actually is the opposite.

I've always spelled the letters out. But you know what? It doesn't matter anymore. It's MBP, mothaf*cka!

I have always said "Tie Book" because I thought it was supposed to rhyme with iBook.

Neither. I simply say "Ti Book", the "ti" sounding like the beginning of "tits" :p Finnish pronouncing for the win.

I guess that means I say it as a word, so I'll just vote for the first option

Neither, it's a "PowerBook" or specifically a "Titanium Powerbook"

TiBook is shorthand that is not meant to be spoken.
