So, I went to page 2 rumors, and read about HFS+ and ZFS, and how ZFS handles smaller files better. I don't really know squat about computers; well, I can manage my way around OSX, mostly because it's fairly intuitive. Other than that, it's all Greek. Anyways, the guy points out how to find out how many files you have. He says his machine has >500,000 files. So, I think, "How many does mine have". I went to Applications, then Utilities, then Disk Utilities, then highlighted my HD on the left. I have 370,715 files. How many do you have? (Hopefully this will degenerate into a "mine's bigger than your's-fest) Prizes to the biggest and smallest. Must be proven with non-PS'd screenshots.

    I'm still winning.... Don't get me wrong - 274,000 is a lot, but it's not 370,000 :D

Hey - howcome you have less files taking up more space? I'd think that more files would mean more space, almost necessarily. What kind of stuff are you storing?

I have about 400,000 files too. What does this prove though? 270,000 must be a pretty minimal install, especially if it's Tiger. :)
