okay, i did a little bit of searching, and didn't find the answer to my question.
so how do you add a picture to a post. both the full image, and an attached thumbnail.

    thanks

To put a link to a photo in a post, just type the URL.

To put an actual photo in a post, when the photo is somewhere else at a URL, put [IMG] tags around its URL.

To attach an upload image to your post, click the Manage Attachments button under the text area where you type posts.

I see you tried it out.

Note: Threads about pictures should go in the Picture Gallery forum, threads about current events in the Current Event forum, and questions like the one in this thread in the Site and Forum Feedback forum. Your threads are now where they belong.

    That reminds me.

How does someone do "Attatched Images" and it shows the full size image?

If you directly reference an image on the Internet, there is no size limit, but it is a disservice to other forum members to include a huge image that way.

If you upload an attached image file and notice the URL of the image that gets uploaded, you can put that same URL in your post with IMG tags around it to display it directly in the post. However, the forum software shows a thumbnail if an image is over a certain size for a good reason (to limit automatically used bandwidth) so bypassing it may annoy other members who have to wait for your image to download even if they'd rather not. The purpose of the thumbnail is to give members a choice about whether they want to see the full-size image when it is large.

So I don't recommend doing what I did in this post, and I will ban myself for a few minutes as punishment.

i believe that's if the image is smaller than a certain size it just shows the full one.
