Is there a way, through the terminal or other wise, to make the default view for ALL finder windows to be as List? It is a bit annoying to always have to switch the finder window view back to list.
Has anyone done this, or know how to do it?

I've been looking for something like that too
I can change the view option in the finder-window, and then choose to use settings on all windows. But if I open a disk image, the finderwindow that pops up is usually with large icons, and not coloumn view as is my setting.

    Help, anyone?

From finder-preferences you can set to open new windows in column view.
Not list, but column is pretty close.

    cheers
