How do I backup adium's preferences, aliases, logs, and anything else I'm forgetting? I'm planning to do an Erase & Install and I like exactly how my Adium is right now so I want to restore it.

Back up the following locations/items and you should be good to go:

~/Library/Preferences/com.adiumX.adiumX.plist
~/Library/Application Support/Adium 2.0/

Where ~/ is your home directory (for example, /Users/[your user name]).

This will back up the preferences and the instant message logs, plus any dock icons/menu bar icons/sound schemes/contact list styles/message styles/other extras that you've installed for Adium. So you will be back up and running in no time! :)

Thank you very much :). Just to clarify - when I'm restoring Adium I first download and install it from the website, and then replace the folders and files you've listed?

Make sure you're in the right application support folder (~ indicates your home folder, so you don't want the one in the main Library folder).

It will do, but you're probably looking in

Library/Application Support

You need to look in

Users/<user name>/Library/Application Support
