I wanted to watch the new coldplay singe, which is only available on their site in the "coldplayer". WHen i play it there, in safari, camino, or internet explorer, it appears to be slowed down and has no sound. Ok, so i downloaded the asset:
    http://212.23.58.131/upload_files/FIX_U256K_Stream002.flv

And tried to open it with flash player for OS X. No luck. I tried Mplayer and VLC just for laughs, nothing. I tried to convert it using FFMpeg, nada. Any thoughts?

FLVplayer is more of a component to put FLVs on your website.

VLC player should handle FLVs -- make sure you have an updated version: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/. Or if you have Flash (the app, not the player), you can bring them into a timeline and publish a swf file to view.
