I have a Black macbook. I want to get a new external hard drive but want to know first if I have USB 3.0 ports on my computer so that I can decide on the best drive to get (i.e. if paying more for USB 3.0 will be worth it or not). How can I tell with Mac OS X? I have Lion.

Probably should have been asking if they were USB 1.0 or 2.0 :D

Is it fun acting superior because you don't use computers as long as the OP?

I'm 89% sure that all Macs with Intel processors use 2.0 or 3.0 ports. 1.0 died with the G4

 It's fun making jokes that fly over some peoples head ;) Off to check if my Commodore PET, Sharp MZ-80 or Sinclair ZX80 have any USB ports...

Getting there. Mine is four and a half years old.

Still works great, and was my primary computer until a couple of months ago. Still have it; it's in reserve now.

If you don't realize that you're blatantly trying to sound superior I don't know what to tell you.
