i just purchased a new lcd yesterday. it's my first lcd ever, so i'm not really sure what i should be looking for when i test it. i understand there's a whole bunch of different issues with lcds like dead pixels, so i was wondering if anyone could give me some pointers on what to look for to make sure i got a good one. thanks!

If you can't see them don't go looking for them ;) I know that sounds like bad advice - but you've taken it home now - if you haven't noticed any dead pixels that's good news!

Calibrate it if you are doing any color-sensitive work, and run a dead-pixel checker like Pixel Check
