Can I force my iPhone to *not* have all of that junk on my lock screen?

Can I keep my iPhone's contents (assumedly new messages—which in my case tend to be business oriented and often proprietary) private instead of flashing for anyone who picks it up to see?
[doublepost=1473799274][/doublepost]
I have a 6 Plus which doesn't have Raise to Wake.

I *love* my 6+ and I just bought one for my friend ($549 was too good to pass up). Waiting on the 8 anyway before I even think of upgrading. So are we Luddites left out in the cold?

Don't bite your nails or pull them into oblivion if you know you have to make a video soon, or get a hand model ;)
otherwise nicely edited.

You can un-tick "Show on Lock Screen" in Settings > Messages

Yeah, I use my iPhone for business. I don't want confidential info displaying willy-nilly.

Right?

Oh yeah, I'm just bored of a phone I've had for 2 years and ooooh shiny

3rd row down, on the right.
I assume you mean the swirly mist wallpaper shown on the Lock Screen.
I don't have a live option. I have dynamic and still. but I found this online if anyone wants to use it

Sooo.... any way to get slide-to-unlock back and disable this rise-to-wake feature that doesn't work 90% of the time? I couldn't care less about lock screen widgets, and if I have to use the phone left-handed (I don't have any finger prints of my left hand in the phone so I don't press the home button and unlock it while taking it out of my pocket meaning all my notifications are wiped from the lock screen) there's just no way to unlock the damn thing.
Add finger prints from your left hand. The whole reason for the change to pressing the button in iOS 10 is so your notifications don't get wiped from the screen before you can read them.

How does raise-to-wake not waste battery as you're walking and sitting/standing with the phone in your pocket?

It's weird, and I've been using since GM.

On my iPhone 6:
Press Home, keep finger on touch ID sensor -> Unlocks to Home screen icons.

Which isn't what I was expecting, but I'm happy it still works like that.

Why is that not expected?

When receiving an iMessage on the lockscreen and 3D touching on it. I am only able to see the received messsage. During the demo on the conference they were able to see some previous messages in that thread ... any solution?

I honestly hate using the 'press to unlock', I'd like an option to revert back to the 'slide to unlock' method.
LO, that's exactly what my wife said.
I didn't like it either, until I figured out how it works. Now it's plain simple. Now I just need to convince my wife to learn the new way... or I will disable TouchID on her phone.

Just wait until reports start flying in on broken/weak/worn Home buttons... I couldn't care less about the damn notifications. We really should've gotten an option.

how do I open notifications without 3D touch on an iPhone 5s?
You should be able to slide the notifications to the left and reveal options that are available to them (including the View option that will give a full view of the notification with potentially more functions).

This is going to take a while to get used to. Most of the time I press the home button to wake my phone while it's flat on my desk, couch, bedside table, so it's still jumping to my home screen.
[doublepost=1473808043][/doublepost]Also, I thought these cards/widgets could be 3D Touched to be expanded/used. I 3D Touch calendar, etc and nothing happens, I can only normal press it which takes me to the app?
