I have a memory module labeled "Hynix 256MB Sync 133MHz CL3" that I got out of my iMac G3 after it died, and I want to install it in my new iMac G4. The problem is that I have no idea how to go about doing this. I'm not even sure if it is compatible. Could someone help me out with this?

I do believe the "user serviceable" memory slot used a sodimm sized memory chip so the 256mb module will work in your G4. The one that is internal can also be upgraded but will require more work and applying new thermal compound when you take it apart.

But for what you want to do, the 256mb from the G3 will work in the G4.
