I find it compellingly amusing that people rant and rave about even the smallest defect. We have migrated away from unique items of ownership to mass produced products and yet we'll never be happy about the quality.
Believe me, I understand that when you pay good money for something, you want it to be perfect. But, remember, these are machines that are designed by humans.

In short(to begin the roast): Stop whining and use it for what it was intended: work or fun.:D

It doesn't bother me that much- sometimes it helps just to rant and get out slight frustrations and I bet most people aren't as upset over slight defects as they may seem.

I think for Apple you should expect quality. Most of its Chineese now made not California made:) My Quicksilver I was perfect, Our Mini is a notch down,so is the mouse, not as accurate as our original Black mouse and its cable. I think they went cheap on the dpi. also. The apple today isnt the Apple of the Quicksilver days:D and Cube....

That's just part of the global economy though. We, as consumers, are demanding lower prices(though Apple doesn't listen too well on that) and stockholders are demanding higher dividends. Well, that spells out cheaper labor and cut costs all around. As we all know, you get what you pay for, right?

There are some people that are seriously bothered. The defects are minor though and usually something that can be remedied. I remember a guy who was bothered that the iMac screen wasn't flush with the case. That was hilarious. He was flawing the design!

small defects like a case that isnt quite aligned or a scratch somewhere can suggest some other damage that could be more serious too. and i dont want to drop $1300 on something that looks like it might not be in perfect working order.

i agree so what if you macbook turns nicotine yellow, or if your mbp whines and is too hot to put on your lap or if your new imac has dead pixels...its just money right?

i think more mac users complain because of a combo of these three things is their premium price, the tooting of their own horn, and the fact that they design their hardware as fashion pieces.

When you pay up to 3k for a machine, you should expect for someone to complain over the smallest problem.

Hmm i don't know. I'm pretty picky when it comes to these things.

I'll probably buy a rev b. macbook pro and if it's too hot, or whines, or the lid isn't flush, or the airport card doesn't work, or it turns green, or starts oozing yellow goop, or randomly shuts down at 6:00 on tuesdays I'm going to want to stomp around and yell a little and then probably beg the dear little apple support employee to replace my machine. I may even post a thread here at the forums either saying "wow, apple's been pretty unlucky recently with their latest product releases" or "what happened to apple quality control?!" or "my macbook pro SUCKS!!" You know?
