Someone in a forum said to boot from the OS X install cd and launch the command line/terminal (whatever) and do the following:

" You can also remove the EFI partition using "gpt remove -i 1 /dev/rdisk0" (MAKE SURE that your EFI partition is #1 - "gpt show") when booted from the OS X Install DVD. Reboot then and boot the Vista setup DVD, run the "recovery tools" and that should make Vista work then. "

This didn't work for me... and I'm not sure how to use the gpt show thing he is talking about. I have 2 partitions I need deleted the EFI and "Untitled" where Vista was originally installed but NEVER got passed the installation phase. And no, the partition manager within the vista installation would NEVER delete the efi partition, nothing would happen.

I just want a quick and easy way to delete my non-Mac OS X partitions. I'm actually pretty angry that there is no Partition Magic equiv. for the Mac

iPartition seems like a quality program but doesn't support intel macs yet, so I assume it doesn't know how to delete fat16, fat32, ntfs partitions that windows uses which is what i really need deleted. The other partition program you mention doesn't say if it works with intel macs or if it will delete fat16, fat32, and ntfs partitions :(

Since you can't figure out how to delete the partition in the Vista installer, I suggest you backup all your important files, reinstall OS X and try again.

Did you have a look at these pics and make your partitions look the same?

oh yeah, thats the first site i attempted to follow. i check back there occassionally.

even if i reinstall os x, my guess is that will simply wipe the os x partition and have a fresh os x, the 2 other partitions will still remain untouched. (i think)
