I was messing around with it and be accident, when in the inbox mode, i swiped from left to right over the edit button and it highlighted every message for deletion. I have no idea what would happen if I press done because I do not want to lose all my messages. I need them.

On page 47 of the iPhone Users Manual it says:

Delete a message
Open the message and tap .

You can also delete a message directly from the mailbox message list by swiping left or right over the message title and then tapping Delete.

Or you can tap Edit and tap [the red circle with white minus sign] next to a message.

The third choice allows you to choose which messages to delete in bulk.

Not sure if any figured this out yet but I found s way to delete all

goto inbox. Then hit edit

select the first message

then hold your finger on it(important!!!)

then while still holding your finger on the selected message hit delete

release your finger from the first message it will unselect then a

delete all / cancel box will appear

hope this helps

annoying but it works

the only way i found to get all of my emails deleted from my iphone was to go into my email account online and delete them from there. when you go back to your email on you iphone update it and they should go away. just make sure you delete them from all of the folders otherwise you will still have them on your iphone.
