i found 1 dead pixel. can i return my phone ?

    hi.

    i just found 1 dead pixel in my iphone 4. its really very tiny and i can see it only if i put the bightness in full.

    i am wondering. shall i return my phone for it ?

    i dont have any other issue with it. no hang up calls no p.meter problems nothing.

    just this small tiny white dead pixel that i have to turn the lights off in the room and really search for it to find it

    what do you guys think

    If you aren't satisfied you should return it or you'll keep noticing that pixel and get angry over time :p

    Seriously, how often will you be doing this? If it is unnoticeable in NORMAL use, does it need to be replaced?

    yeah but for how many times i should keep going to return it and find one without dead pixel ? i mean seriously this phone is probably gona have more dead pixels than any other phone in the world due to the pixel count the screen.

    its really annoying to keep changing the phone. now i am with dead pixel. tomorrow new phone has some other ****** problem.


    when i bought the phone, i didnt find any **** in it. suddenly yesterday i found one.

    You can return it and not actively search for dead pixels in the new one.

    You can find it on the Retina Display?

    And if you got it less than fourteen days ago, then it is an undisputed exchange. But go to the Genius Bar and they might replace it, still in the warranty and everything.

    Please do yourself a favor and return it. If we are gonna pay a couple hudread dollars on a phone, if not more, it better be 100%. Why cheat yourself?

    Exactly, someone else paid the same money as you and got a perfect phone. I'd keep exchanging until you get the perfect one.

    I had exactly 1 dead pixel on my 3G about 3 months after purchase. Took it to the Apple Store and they gave me a new one with no questions asked. I'd definitely go and get it replaced. Although you might want to try some programs/sites that help with fixing dead pixels first, might be worth a try:

    Dead pixels are really an issue that varies from company to company. I know that Dell won't consider an item defective unless it has more than 6 dead pixels.

    Ill never understand some people. Whats the point of going out of your way to fine 1 tiny dead pixel that you can't even see? Really just wow.

    You have a phone that works - no PS or other issues - and you want to exchange exchange it for a dead pixel that you can't see under normal circumstances?

    Anyone can tell you weather or not to exchange it. The question is, will Apple allow you to exchange it.

    1 dead pixel on the highest density screen ever on a mobile device? The answer is simple...if you have to go out of your way to find it then it is not worth returning it. Would you return a car for a speck of paint chipping?

    Course. But thats a different story. That could easily have been my fault; the dead pixel, probably not.

    I think you can return your iPhone for a full refund for any or no reason in the first 30 days, although an exchange may be different. If you have a weak signal or proximity sensor problem, this might be more legitimate than one dead pixel. Nevertheless, if you can see a dead pixel, then the your retinal display is not subliminal, as touted by Apple, and they should swap it out.

    Bought my phone last Sunday and then took me 4 days til yesterday early morning before I noticed a decent size dead pixel at the center of the screen. I think this is freaking sad lol. Took it back to the store to see the Apple guy to get some help aka (replace for a new one). The guy didn't want to replace it for me at the beginning since he said that I only have one and which it's normal. But then he finally gave up and told me he had to pull some fingers to get the ok for the exchange, just to make me happy. Yay!!! The new one's screen seems fine to me except two small dust particles that made them look like bad pixels. But if I don't try to look for them, they are somewhat invisible compared to the first phone. I know that I can certainly exchange for another one as I think its a alittle more serious to that Apple store according to the peopel I talked to than 1 dead pixel. So I think I am done for exchange, since its not like I will have to use it forever anyway. Who knows what's condition for the third phone will be like anyway. Gonna just use it til next December and sell it and get an iPhone5.

    I'd get it replaced it. I find it odd that some would come here to ask others if they should return it?? Even if they are unsure it qualifies(which this certainly does), why not call Apple?

    Get it replaced and dont listen to the 'genius' if they say you cant. I had a dead pixel on my 3g and was told by a 'genius' that I could switch it but if the replacement had any dead pixels, even if it had 20, I was stuck with it.

    I called customer service and they said that was absolutely incorrect and they would have no problem replacing it and any subsequent phones with dead pixels.

    I got replacement phone yesterday due to the yellow spots. My replacement phone is great but it has a dead pixel in the right hand corner. Back to the "genius bar" :(

    Apple has a policy of 3 dead pixel anomaly for surefire exchange. Anything less is up to the Genius' discretion. I know this because I did the exact same thing and he told me the 3 pixel policy. I still got an exchange in the end.
