I think what the advisor was talking about above is going to the gear sign at the bottom left and telling it to make you the owner... this is different than changing the privilege on the list of permissions. I am trying it right now, hope it works. Hope you got this sorted out as it has been months and this is the most helpful info I have found... meanwhile I am waiting for the privileges to update after making myself the owner...(I thought I was the owner, I am the only user!)

File systems on OS X, error code -22 and dataloss

Thanks.

(Context for other readers: this topic about code -22 was spun off from a topic about a different error code, The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -50)

Information about error -22 can be difficult to find. Here's an April 2014 post from me under "Error -22" any help on a meaningless error with a single file – Apple Support Communities. Key points from that post:
  • rare, and typically misunderstood
  • assume that there has been dataloss from the affected file; that it will be irreparable
  • if you can, restore from a backup of a point in time before the dataloss.

… to make you the owner... this is different than changing the privilege on the list of permissions. I am trying …

If there has been loss of data from the file, attention to permissions can not restore that data.

Time Machine Backup Corrupted. How to Repair? – Sparse bundle disk images, HFS Plus repairs, Time Machine, restoration, reliability … Suitability of HFS Plus:

• the message at 2013-06-07 22:28:49 is eye-catching, but expected in my case (symptom of a bug involving HFS Plus; a corruption that involves AppleFSCompression) – probably negligible in the context of this answer …

Here's that message:

Code:
2013-06-07 22:28:49.157 com.apple.backupd[18433] Unexpected result from MDBackupIndexFile (1) for: /Volumes/spare/Tocar y Luchar JAA.cdr, /Volumes/Time Machine Backups/Backups.backupdb/GPES3E-gjp4-1/2013-06-06-215332.inProgress/9086512E-E386-475E-AE99-34BAA1D2E485/spare/Tocar y Luchar JAA.cdr

– the same message, wrapped for easy reading with (vBulletin for) this forum:

2013-06-07 22:28:49.157 com.apple.backupd[18433] Unexpected result from MDBackupIndexFile (1) for: /Volumes/spare/Tocar y Luchar JAA.cdr, /Volumes/Time Machine Backups/Backups.backupdb/GPES3E-gjp4-1/2013-06-06-215332.inProgress/9086512E-E386-475E-AE99-34BAA1D2E485/spare/Tocar y Luchar JAA.cdr

Whilst there's no -22 in that message, I know that the file lost most of its data through a routine that I used to reproduce error -22.

Cached for me by Diigo: Lots of errors in logs, most "unknown" / Questions / Discussion Area - Bombich Software Support. That topic was closed long before I could add to it. Someone I knew in a private forum was quite 'present' in Bombich Software Support … it's possible that the information about error -22 was shared to Mike Bombich, but I doubt that it happened.
