I was hoping there was a comment section. I was going to let him know that in spite of his hate, we still love him. :p

Charlie Brooker manages to make me laugh every week, and paragraphs like this are no exception:

well, he shouldn't hate mac, shouldnt hate ppl who use macs, but he sure can hate those ads, apple's PR crossed the line in many cases, and somewhat dishonest in some of them,

That guy really has something up his a$$.

"I hate Macs. I have always hated Macs. I hate people who use Macs," Wow Mr. Brooker you really know how to support your argument.

How can one hate another person solely because of the computer they use, I don't understand, this guy is talking like a five year old.

    I like Macs. :)

That made me laugh really hard.
I think that was slightly tongue and cheek and not entirely serious.

I actually like this article...it isnt really true macs are way better for alot of creative things but he still hits some nails on the head.

    This is my favorite bit...

"If you truly believe you need to pick a mobile phone that "says something" about your personality, don't bother. You don't have a personality. A mental illness, maybe - but not a personality"

He's added a rather amusing comment to the bottom as well. :p

Slightly off topic, but if they did change half the words like he says, therefore completely changing the tone of the article, that's a bit crap, no? That would piss me right off. Lucky I'm not a journalist, eh? ;)

    I <3 The Gaurdian. :D

Even though I disagree with him (obviously), I'm yet to read another paper that has such brilliant writing.

Its sad really, but there are so many people out there with the exact same point of view to whom the article will seem like a godsend....

Very well-written article, if a little tongue-in-cheek. The adverts take a bit of an unfair dig at PC users, I must admit. And I think it's a bit foolish to suggest, as the adverts do, that Macs are something you might use for your leisure time (oooh! iPhoto! iMovie! - not a lot of use for actual work, however) whereas PCs are for getting stuff done.

That's an odd statement to me, because most people I work with don't know what the right click on the windoes mouse even does.

I seem to remember they actually won an award for it. Probably the Observer awards or maybe the Manchester Evening News ones

OK, maybe Charlie Brooker is more popular than I anticipated. I personally find him a bit tiresome. The Organ Grinder and Screenburn writers are far more entertaining.

Still, he's better than Zoe Williams. I refuse to buy the Guardian simply because I know that some of my money will be going to fund the bilge that she comes out with every week. :(

I think when he was younger he must have been raped by a Classic or something, he's really got some issues.

It's a little scary to see comments like "I hate people who use macs".

Why do people get so wound up about what other people buy. I've never seen an article where somebody wrote, "I hate people who drive Bimmers" or "I hate people who have Samsung LCD TVs".

I'll just repeat the comment I posted on the actual Guardian website:

"Anyone else find it ironic that Charlie, and probably most people who have posted comments on this article, says the biggest flaw about Macs is that it perpetuates the idea that people can define themselves by technology, when the whole preceding article has been him defining himself by being a PC-owner, and thus not a wanker?"
