I think given the amount of new products that Apple will be launching this year there are going to be a lot of these small events this year with "medium scale" products.

I can almost guarantee there will be another one end of March beginning of April to announce the 17" Macbook Pro and possibly the new iBook. This will also coincide with the 30th anniversary of Apple.

Considering all the PPC machines are set to be replaced at least once this year, I think you're right.

I agree but I am still hoping for the Ipod/Pda. If it is just going to be all intel based upgrades that is like beating a dead horse. Gets old quick.

I don't know. By switching to Intel it seems to me that the mac lineup will ultimately become much more predictable, so events announcing speedbumps will be really unnecessary. I think events will have to concentrate more on software and other products, or end up being a little boring.

As miloblithe is saying, this year's events can be very predictable. We all know the next Mac to get the Intel switch is the iBook (MacBook), followed by the Power Mac (Mac Pro) in the fall. Summer will consist of Leopard previews and announcements. We'll also get the occasional speed bumps now and then. When January 2007 comes around, we can all return to being surprised. :)

WWDC 2006 is certainly going to be awesome, so we can't doubt that. I can't wait to see what Leopard has to offer. And oh yeah, we may be seeing new Cinema Displays this year too. Today's event may have been disappointing, but I'm sure April will be fun.

I agree. I think there will be several more Apple media events that fail to live up to the rumor sites' fervent predictions.

I just think that we have to keep in mind that most product developments are either going to be evolutionary or new. Apple is not going to introduce a new mac in its existing lines that is radically better than what it is currently offering.

iPods have more capacity for interesting functionality changes, but again it will be little differences.
