    Oh boy!

About a lucky man who made the grade!

And though the news was rather sad,
Well I just had to laugh...

Neat! Took a look at your station's WWW site too; it's nice to see a PEG station
    that actually does something.

Congrats! So my question would have to be what are you editing the video on? And what sort of camera were you using? Any link to the final bit?

Very impressive stuff, this might lead to even more opportunities for you.

I'd probably post here if I was in the same room as the President, let alone for making the news in my own right :D.

I editeded in FCP3 ($22 short for Production Suite... I'll have it soon :D ) and shot on a Canon GL1. I don't have a link to the final bit yet, but I'll post it when I get home if my web server has space.

Are you allowed to post it if it's for CCTV? Don't they own the rights to it or something?

That's a good point. I checked with the station (to be on the safe side), and the manager OKed it. I'm encoding an MPEG-4 right now, and I'll have it online in a few hours. I'll post a link here as soon as it's ready!

Congratulations on this honor Eric. Your parents must be very proud. That was certainly an awesome opportunity. Are you hoping to study journalism? If so you have a great start. It will look good on your resume. That is very kind of your station to allow you to post your work, looking forward to seeing ti also.

It's uploading as I type. As of last check, 30% done. I'm on high speed internet, but my upload is only 128K and it's a 325MB file. I'll post the second it's up.

The news report is now online. Check it out at

    http://coresoftcomputers.com/transfer/Lakeline.html

I suggest broadband to watch it--it's a 325MB file. (~50 minutes) I did the open in FCP3 on my G5. The rest was edited on my iBook G4.

    Tell me what you think.
