I'm looking for a Newton, if anyone out there is interested in selling one, let me know! Thanks!
Hi, I have a Newton 120 with tons of extras, extra battery, extra stylus, extra cases... etc. I'm interested in a trade.
What are you interested in?
I'm looking for anything for my Pismo: RAM, Airport card... anything really... I'd be happy to let this Newton go... after all, I haven't touched in for a while.
anyone know of a way to sync up an ipaq and such to an apple? i know i'm going to get flamed for this but no other company out there has decent PDAs palm is gr8, but the color palms suck compared to a win pda it sucks, i'm looking to use it as a portable note taker, etc. surfing the web wirelessly, unfortunately apple isn't catering to people who like portability, and don't even start to say that a 4.9 pound ibook is portable compared to a 6.5 ounce ipod type product, it isnt!
I have a newton...
If your nostalgic, I have a 110 message pad, complete with FAX, handbooks and leather case.....
You might also try your luck at eBay. I was fortunate enough to get a Newton MP2100 awhile back for $105! I recommend getting either the MP2000 or 2100. The 1x0 series just doesn't cut it in terms of processor speed. That is, if you're looking to actually USE the Newton. If you're just buying it for the nostalgia or the novelty, then just get the 120 or 130. They're a lot cheaper.
i'm new in the mac world (somewhat) what is a newton??
the newton was the apple handheld computer. I just sold my mint 2100 on ebay for $300 so they're available and priced from around $100-350 for a 2x00 unit.
The Newton MessagePad was a PDA produced by Apple from 1993 to 1998. See everymac.com for more info:
Even though some of the MessagePad models are about as big as a videocassette, they're still the coolest PDA's around!
Hemingray is right...
If you want to actually do constructive things with the Newt, then get the 2xxx models. I had a MP100 then a 120, but the REAL fun began when I got my 2000 and 2100 a year ago. People are amazed when they see me working on it and I tell them that it was made in '93! A great little machine, er, toy, er PDA.
i know that apple had something else in the works besides the newton message pad and emate, i think it was a tablet or slate, anyone got any info on it?
I bought a Newt. 120 with Keyboard about a month back for £60, it is a great little thing, and even though it is almost 10 years old it still has that wow factor
The Keyboard is really cool, it has its own leather case and it similar in size to the Powerbook Keyboard. Arn made a site about Newts that I used to visit but I can't find it anymore
