what kind of ram does this guy use? is it SD or DDR (i hope its DDR) that would make upgrading cheap. LMK! Mike.

PC2100 SO-DIMMs. And they went to PC2700 when the iBook got BT2, scrolling trackpad, SMS, etc. I'm pretty sure you can use PC2700 in the original iBook G4s too, but wait for someone like CanadaRAM, who is eminently more quotable than I am.

If it has a slot load optical drive and actually has an 800 MHz G4, and not an 800 MHz G3, then it uses PC2100 DDR SODIMM's. Otherwise, the 800 MHz G3 uses PC133 SODIMM's.

You can use PC2700 RAM in it as it will scale itself down to PC2100 speeds.

cool, ill prob pick up pc 3200 or pc 2700, as pc 2100 is actually sometimes more expensive, but hey whatever, i dont care. ill up it to 768, that should be fine for tiger (current 1.33Ghz ibook g4 512 runs it fine)
