iBook G4 HD and OSX question

Hi

A friend of mine got an iBook G4 14" with a 60GB HD that wasn't working, so he exchanged the HD, but now he is not able to get the iBook up and running because he doesn't have the installation DVDs for Tiger or any other OSX

My question is, could I use my OSX installation DVD (Tiger) in order to install Tiger to his iBook and get it up and running? I have my original installation DVDs and everything that came with my iBook, but I don't know if those will only work with my computer, or if they're limited to be installed in one computer at a time.

Your iBook install discs will only work if they are the same revision of the iBook.

For example, the last iBooks made were the 1.42ghz 14" ibook and the 1.33ghz 12" iBook, 2005 revision. They use the SAME Tiger install discs.

The 1.2ghz 12" ibook and the 1.33ghz 14" ibook were the 2004 iBooks. They use the same Panther install discs.

The 1.0ghz 12" iBook and the 1.2ghz 14" iBook were the next revision.

The 800mhz G4 iBook 12" and the 1.0 ghz 14" iBook were the first revision (I think)

Just trying to show you how the iBook install discs were paired. i only remember because I owned the new 1.2 12" and 1.33/1.42ghz 14" iBooks and that's why I remember.

I actually have a couple of sets of the dvd install discs for these so let me know if you need them.

Hi, my iBook is the latest 12" revision 1.33 from late 2005.
My friend is bringing me his 14" this afternoon, I'll check if they're from the same revision. So if they are, my installation discs should work fine right?
I wouldn't have any problems later on? like any type of message saying that the same OSX is being used in another machine or something like that?

Hey, California: I've been looking for and would love to get a copy of the 1.2ghz 12" discs for the 2004 iBook if you have them!

I have a 2005 mac ibook g4, the model number is a1133. a while ago it started flashing a question mark and the mac icon and would start up after a while. But it stopped booting and just kept on flashing that, i took it to a mac store and they told me it needs a new hard drive so i installed a 160gb hard drive but when i start it up it does the same thing. so i think and have been told i just need the install/ restore discs but i just dont know which discs to buy.????? os x 10.4 tiger??????
