Yup that'll work. Also hit up ifixit.com for a nice teardown tutorial if you need. It's a fair pain in the butt to do the hdd on a g4 iBook.

Help!

I performed this exact operation today - I've done this a few times before, and nothing seemed to go wrong while swapping the dead drive out. Now, the iBook will not turn on anymore. Not even a chime...

There was one thing I flubbed. While removing the power cord for the left speaker I pulled the whole socket off the logic board. I understand that the speaker will no longer work, but this shouldn't cause the whole thing to not even power up.

Any ideas? DC in board, perhaps? Dying logic board that finally took the plunge?
