i'm having problems trying to get my buddies iBook to load up. when you turn it on it just flashes a small folder in the middle with the finder symbol and then a question mark flashes shortly after. when i insert a cd to load off of, all it does is show the busy symbol like it is trying to load. i don't have is disk so i am trying to use my leopard disk. anyone have any suggestions?

The folder with a question mark means it can't find your OS, which is most likely due to a dead HD.

Try booting in target mode with your Mac attached (your Mac acting as the HDD for his system), if it boots normally then you know it is the HDD.
