Hi there, I'd like to receive your feedback on this problem that I've always had with my iBook. The Superdrive... ugh. Since the beginning it's been making these loud noises, but only when having to read certain DVDs. Apple DVDs in particular . At first it was just noise, and I thought it's normal. But it's recently begun to scratch my discs. For instance, my iWork '05 DVD. After using the install disc for the first time, it was filled with all sorts of marks. The second time I used it 15 mins. ago... The installer reported an error. I recorded the sounds it made at the beginning of the install process, and attached a link to the file: http://rapidshare.de/files/25926432/SuperDrive.mp3.html Aside from all of this, the battery is at 86% of its original capacity after only 6 months. And the trackpad only works half of the time. So, what do you think? Should I take it in for repair? Even if it's a "duh" question, I'm asking because I live in eastern Europe, and service for my iBook may be hard to find or of lower quality. I'd really appreciate your help. I've babied this lappy too much for it to act up now . Many thanks.
