I can't handle paying the cost of a powerbook, but i stick with an eMac because i love the 17" screen. You think Apple will come out wth a 17" iBook. I would love to see that happen.

never.....and if they did i wouldn't be surprised to see 1084x768 as the resolution...the ibook is consumer level....the powerbooks especially the 17" is prosumer

if you doubt something not happening....that means you expect it to happen right?

Don't mean to burst your bubble, but the chance of this happening is about as much as Bill Gates becoming a board memer at Apple(0.0000%). Plus, if they did release one, it would probably cost between 2000 and 2500 dollars, so I bet you couldn't afford that either. Maybe you could, but that is an expensive machine. It is a dream that will never come true.

Although I think the 12 inch iBook is sharp, and the 14 inch is not unattractive, I do believe I would need to wear eye protection if I were going to spend a significant amount of time using the vast expanse of white plastic that would be a 17 inch iBook.

If that's the truth, how do explain 1997's Macworld where Bill Gates appeared on the projected display and Steve Jobs was on the podium in front of it? Was that Steve's double?

I can't see Apple coming out with a 17" iBook for a long time. A 17" iBook probably would be expensive, and most people would prefer to get a PowerBook.

So do I! Anyway, back on topic, there's no way Apple's going to release a 17" iBook, not until the PB gets to 23" or something anyway :D

I think 15" iBook is as far as Apple will go, and that probably won't be in widescreen format either.
