    why would the name change?

honestly, there are only two computers in apples arsenal that have names derived from the chip type, the powerbook and powermac, but those will also stay the same. Why would they change the name of the iBook?

The name would change because they are now called iBook G4's, based on the PPC chip. They Intel iBooks obviously wont have the PPC chip, so the name is probably likely to change to some degree.

I think he means what will the "special tag" be.. as in iBook G4. I would like it if they called it the iBook G6 because technically the Intel processors would be the next generation of processors in macs. I like how Apple uses the same name for everything they use.. such as all G4's or all G5's instead of how the PC world has all kinds of different processors.
