I noticed that Icculus (Ryan Gordon) has been interviewed here .

Here's an excerpt from his interview:

"The Linux box has a GeForceFX-generation card, and the Powerbook is a Radeon 9600 or something like that, for those keeping track. Right now the most important thing is being able to run ut2004 and its contemporaries well, but I'm going to have to move up to an NV40-level card or better when the UnrealEngine3 work gets serious. God knows what the hell I'm going to do on MacOS when it gets to that point."

Well, he is not very sure what to do when it gets to "That point"...

I dunno I kinda figure by the time UT2007 is ready for porting that he'll probably have to buy a new mac that'll have those capabilities. It's bad news for those of us who will continue to use the older machines but I'm not going to expect my 4 year old TiBook to be able play ut2007.

You summed it up. He's going to have to pay for a new mac out of pocket if he wants to continue his mac ports. Hopefully the x86 macs will be out by then so he doesn't have to blow his money on a slower current generation mac.
