    Minimum requirements for a 3-way video chat is a G5 or dual-G4

Apple has been screwing around with the ability to multi-video conference with each new Tiger update. I was able to host a video conference in 10.4.0, but then it was disabled in 10.4.1. It worked again in 10.4.2, and now it doesn't in 10.4.3. Your uncle will need to be the one to host the chat, he is the only one that meets the requirements. I would also suggest each person download and try the demo program http://www.ecamm.com/mac/powerboost/ here. If it works for your family, I would buy it, it is only $8 or $19 for 3 licenses. I hope that helps a bit.

For your Uncle who has the iMac G5, how fast is his internet connection

    Both upload and download speeds

Having the processing power is the first thing

the next is having the internet connection to host the conference
